David Emmanuel Goatley, Executive-Secretary Treasurer of the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention, has written an outstanding article expressing his enthusiastic anticipation of next year's New Baptist Covenant gathering in Atlanta. The article can be found
here at the Baptist Studies Bulletin for July, which is a monthly publication of The Center for Baptist Studies at Mercer University. If you don't receive this already by email, it's normally well worth the read.

I appreciate this brother's words. He speaks as one who clearly believes the gospel, and that Jesus is the only way of salvation.
Jimmy Carter's muddled soteriology would be repugnant to this man, if he knew of it. If President Carter would clear up his reported pluralism, I'd not put up a caution flag or stop sign on his New Bapt Cov. If Carter doesn't or can't refute the reported non-exclusive views, he needs to move way to the back of this endeavor because he will be known, or thought by his defaulting silence, to be un-Baptistic.
Care to comment about this Covenant speaker supporting Planned Parenthood?
The Rev. Julie Pennington-Russell, former pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Waco, was one of the Sponsors of this Planned Parenthood event:

This conference was designed to counter "True Love Waits." Bill Underwood's former pastor is also listed as a sponsor of the same event.
By the way, Bill Underwood (one of the Covenant main organizers) has also supported Planned Parenthood of Waco.
